As students prepare to move from one grade level to the next, it is often hard to know exactly what they need to meet their academic goals. Because education in Kentucky has changed with the new Senate Bill 1, administrators thought it might be a good time for Marshall County High School to offer grade-level parent nights for all parents.

The focus of these nights is to inform parents of changes that have taken place, of opportunities available to students and to answer parent questions. Guidance counselors, principals and teachers will be available to answer questions on such issues as college and career readiness, standards, ACT testing, AP classes, industry certificates, KEES money and other grade-specific programs. These employees will also discuss what courses what courses a student will need in 2013-2014.

Each night will begin with a general session in the cafeteria at 6 p.m. and then move into breakout sessions of a parent's choice. We will conclude the night by giving tentative class schedules for the next school year.

It is to a parent's advantage to come to the night designated for your child's grade level.
