Mrs. Dorothy Sue Dunn, 88 of Benton, passed away Saturday, April 20, at 6:10 a.m. at the Calvert City Convalescent Center.

Born June 21, 1924, in Marshall County, she worked for the International Shoe Company in Paducah. Sue was a member of the Palma United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was member of the church administrative board.

Surviving are one son, Joseph Walker Dunn, wife Carla, Benton; one daughter, Glenda Jean Vasseur, husband Joe, Benton; three grandchildren, Heather Renee Dunn, Anthony Lee Vasseur, wife Jessica and James Andrew Vasseur, wife Kayla, all of Benton; four great-grandchildren, Maggie Vasseur, Anna Vasseur, Kaden Vasseur and Addie Vasseur, all of Benton.

Two sisters, Mary Helen Gregory and Martha Lou Noles, both of Benton, one sister-in-law, Ann Ford of Benton, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Audie (Canup) Parker; her husband, James Walker Dunn to whom she married Feb. 22, 1947, in Corinth, Miss., three brothers, Rex Parker, Joe Parker and Will “Peewee” Parker, and one sister, Shirley Miller, two sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; one niece and two nephews.

A funeral service was held Monday, April 22, in the Chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton. The Rev. Ben Northcutt officiated. Interment followed the service in the Marshall County Memory Gardens, Benton.

The family request that memorial contributions be made to the Palma United Methodist Church, 2816 U.S. Hwy 68 West, Benton, KY 42025.
