The Marshall County Sheriff's Department charged a Calvert City man with burglary and a number of drug offenses related to an incident early this morning.

According to a Sheriff's Department press release, Deputy Dennis Lewis responded to a complaint of a break-in to a home on Lone Valley Road. The resident did not know who the person was who was entering the home. Upon arrival, Lewis and officers of the Calvert City Police Department allegedly found the suspect, Jeremy S. Rambeau, 35, sitting inside.

Rambeau said he believed he was at a friend's home and was waiting for the friend. He later told police he did not know where he was or how he got there. Deputies believed Rambeau was under a heavy influence of drugs.

When searched, investigators said they found a straw in his pocket with a powdery white residue. The residue allegedly tested positive for methamphetamine. Rambeau was taken to the Marshall County Detention Center and charged with burglary, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
