Born Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1925, in Gilbertsville, he was the son of the late Milo Clinton Ruggles, Sr., and the late Dovie (Lowery) Ruggles. He was the retired owner of the M.C. Ruggles House Moving Company, a member of the Briensburg Baptist Church and he also honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Mary (Foley) Ruggles, Benton; one son, Steve Ruggles, Grand Rivers; two daughters, Donna Freeman, Calvert City, and Jennifer Ruggles, Westlake, La.; one brother, Rudy Ruggles, Gloucester, N.J., 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Michael Ruggles and Tony Wahl, two sisters; Juanita Chiles and Zelma Jones and one grandchild, Jerry Steven Ruggles.
A funeral service was held Thursday, April 11, in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, KY. Rev. C.C. Brasher and Rev. Brad Walker officiated. Interment with military honors followed the service in the Provine Cemetery, Benton.
