Cletus William McDougal, 91, Benton,died Tuesday, April 2, at Southgate Health Care in Metropolis, Ill.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II. He was a member of Lakeview Missionary Baptist Chrch, American Legion and a Kentucky Colonel.

He was the son of the late Earl and the late Jewel Barnwell McDougal

He is also survived by his wife, Dorothy McDougal of Benton; four daughters, Suzette Story, Possum Trot, Vickie Vied, Symsonia, Patricia Travis, Benton, Joy Park, Sharpe; two sons, David McDougal, Almo, Gary Dean McDougal, Possum Trot; three step-daughters, Diana Hill, Lowes, Janice Thurston, Reidland, Peggy Pence, Chilichote, Ohio; one step-son, Roy Gene Downs, Possum Trot, one sister, Molly Alice Sanders, Cali.; one brother: Dwayne McDougal, Michigan City, Ind.; 30 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Louella Young McDougal. step-daughter, Cathy Gray; step-son, Jerry Downs; five brothers and three sisters.

A funeral service was held at Collier Funeral Chapel on Saturday, April 6. The Rev. Kenneth Puckett and Rev. Brad White officiated. Interment followed at Wilson Cemetery, Benton.
