Tater Day festivities are getting off to a wet start today in Benton. Pouring rain hindered the efforts of vendors trying to settle in along Main Street this morning. Those who had set up earlier in the week found sparse crowds waiting for a taste of the famous Tater Day corn dogs and lemon shake-ups.

The weather forecast calls for improving conditions this afternoon, with rain chances tapering off. Tomorrow and Sunday, a chance of rain returns to the forecast.

The Demolition Derby is scheduled for tonight at 5 at HH Lovett Park rain or shine.

Monday's weather calls for a 30% chance of rain, with a high of 52. Parade organizers are hoping the rain holds off until after the festivities. The parade gets underway Monday at 11 a.m.
