The annual Marshall County Rotary Club Auction will be held this week starting Thursday on WCBL Radio 99.1 FM.

Bidders will have a chance to purchase a number of items including guided fishing trips and boat rentals, restaurant certificates, home decor items, tools and autographed basketballs from for UK and MSU players.

The auction will air live from Majestic Restaurant in Draffenville Thursday from 4-9 p.m., Friday from 4-9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon.

"Marshall County has once again stepped up and shown great support of our auction," said Cindy Riley, auction chairperson. "We are so grateful to the community for the support this year and over the years."

Riley said the goal for this year's auction is $35,000 and all of the money goes to support the youth of Marshall County.

The Rotary Club supports the Teachers Helping Kids program which allows students with need to be able to have new clothing twice a year.

"We allotted $20,000 this school  year for the program and as of last Monday, $18,900 of that money has already been used. We still have two months left for school and we usually see an uptick during the spring and fall seasons," said Riley.

Anyone wishing to donate an item to the auction, or to volunteer their time is asked to contact Riley at 395-5133. Auction items may be viewed at Majestic Restaurant beginning Thursday afternoon.
