Jeanene R. Thompson, 76, of Benton died Sunday, March 17, at Marshall County Hospital. Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Benton.

She was the daughter of the late Tom Rose and the late Lola Mae (Gore) and John Lents.

She is survived by daughter Rhonda Powell of Benton; brother Jerry Rose of Benton; sisters JoAnn Evans of Benton and Janice Chiles of Benton; three grandchildren, Angi O’Daniel, Trent Powell, and Kurt Powell, all of Benton; and four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Landron “Jack” Thompson; sons Darryl Thompson and Alan Dale Thompson; daughter Landa Daniels; and brother Jerry W. Lents.

Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home of Benton, where the family will receive friends from 55 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, March 19.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 20, at 1 p.m. at Collier Funeral Home. Bro. Alan Miller will officiate.

Interment will follow at Benton Cemetery.
