Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her parents Grover Johnson and Inez (Sample) Johnson; husband Roy Butler; son, Rev. Jerry L. Seay; son, Bennie P. Ham; brother, Fred Johnson and sister Eulene (Johnson) Ham.
Mrs. Butler has one surviving sister, Murrell Foreman of Bradenton, Fla.; one daughter, Verna I. (Seay) Shumaker of Calvert City; two sons, Charles L. Fuqua of Festus, Mo., and James K. Day, Saratoga, Fla.;14 grandchildren, Natalie Fuqua, Margie (Fuqua) Sparkman, Tammy (Seay) Ortiz, Joey Seay, Pamela (Shumaker) Worthen, Henry H. Shumaker, Jr., Jeffery Shumaker, Garrett Seay, Jarrett Seay, Hope Seay, David Ham, Jamie Day, Teresa (Ham) Sharpe and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Butler was a member of Faith Gospel Temple in Gilbertsville.
Funeral services were officiated by Pastor Rev. Terry Phelps, Rev. Mark C. Shumaker and Rev. WH Shumaker at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home on Friday, March 8. Internment followed at Marshall County Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Butler is best known by her friends and family by her candor and friendly and open personality, with all that she met she considered as friend. She will always be remembered for her love of gospel music, singing and playing of the guitar. All that met her could always enjoy an energetic conversation of God’s plan for all of us and all the blessings that we can experience from standing in His light.
Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were Henry H. Shumaker Jr., Jamie Day, Jeffery B. Shumaker, David Ham, Joey Seay, Garrett Seay, Jarrett Seay, Glenn Hatfield and Glenn Knight.
