CALVERT CITY – A lakes area outdoor shop is re-opening under the stewardship of experienced management.
Kentucky Lake Outdoors has been purchased by Jack Fuller, who said he worked for 25 years at Gander Mountain, including time as a district manager.
“Our manager, Tony Roberts, has 15 years of experience including seven years of management experience in outdoors supply,” Fuller said. “Both Tony and our assistant manager Don Bennett have experience in the BFL tournament.”
Fuller said the store will specialize in firearms, archery, fishing supplies and canoes, kayaks and towed inflatables.
Unique services include catering to the needs of crappie fishermen and bow fishing aficionados.
The store will also feature outdoor apparel and accessories.
“We have a lot of experience,” Fuller said. “Myself, I am an NRA certified pistol instructor and plan to offer concealed-carry classes and state hunting certificates along with home defense classes.”
In addition, Kentucky Lake Outdoors will offer fishing seminars conducted by local professional fishermen and boaters safety classes.
Fuller said he plans to open for business on Feb. 22 and intends to have a grand re-opening on March 8.
“We will have our firearms license in 30 days, and in the meantime, plan to offer a full line of ammunition,” Fuller said.
In its range of firearms, Fuller said the store will offer rifles to deer hunters, and shotguns for waterfowl and upland game bird hunters.
“We’re focusing on recreational firearms, and have a full line of Glock and Smith and Wesson firearms,” Fuller said.
Kentucky Lake Outdoors will also offer basic firearm accessory services, such as scopes and sighting.
“We’re all Marshall County residents and looking forward to being a part of the community,” Fuller said.
“We’re wanting to work with youth organizations and offer our expertise in outdoor sports to everyone.”
Kentucky Lake Outdoors is located off Exit 27 on Interstate 24 at 163 Kennedy Ave. in Calvert City.
