Participants of the Polar Plunge will likely find the waters of Kentucky Lake chillier than in past years. The event will take place tomorrow and the high temperature is expected to be around 39 degrees. Water temperature is 48 degrees.

The event will begin at 10:45 a.m., with plungers hitting the water starting at 11:30 a.m.

With the motto "Freezin for a Reason," the event is being held for the fourth year at Kentucky Dam Village.

The local event is one of six in Kentucky. Last year's event drew a total of 3.141 participants and raised more than $750,000. The Marshall County event had more than 500 plunders and raised nearly $95,000.
