According to a Sheriff's Department press release, Deputy Nathan Maxlow went to a home on Arizona Street in Calvert City to assist in locating a suspect. Deputies believed David Chadwell, 35, Calvert City possessed a stolen vehicle and several firearms. Maxlow was told Chadwell made threats to kill another resident in the home.
Upon arrival, Chadwell was found hiding under a bed. A 9 mm pistol was found under the mattress. Investigators found the pistol was reported stolen from Knox County.
Deputies charged Chadwell with burglary, receiving stolen property and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He was jailed in the Marshall County Detention Center in lieu of a $100,000 cash bond. The Marshall County District Court Clerk's office said he would appear in court at 1 p.m. Monday.
