Leonard Clifton McLaughlin went home to be with Jesus, Jan. 14.
He was an elder and faithful servant of Christian Fellowship Church, and school. He was always willing to help the poor, the missionaries, and anyone who needed him. Even the church sanctuary shows his handiwork. He will be missed by all.
He served in the Army Air Corps, in the occupation forces of Japan.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Gilland) McLaughlin, Calvert City; daughter, Connie McKendree, husband Mark, Benton; stepdaughters, Mary Ginna Gresham, husband Gary, Paducah, Suzanne Murphy, husband Mike, Memphis, Tenn.; stepson, Bobby Clark, wife Janet, Lone Oak; brother, Jim McLaughlin, wife Wilma, Jonesboro, Ark.; grandchildren, Nicole McKendree Riddle, husband Todd, Charlotte, N.C., Markea McKendree and Kayla Peck, both of Benton; step grandchildren, Ian Gresham and Emma Gresham, both of Paducah, Jason Staggers, Lexington, Cherie Martin, Memphis, Tenn., Amy Lloyd, Paducah, Joe Clark, Charlotte, N.C.; two greatgrandchildren; and 11 step- great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys McLaughlin; parents, David McLaughlin and Bertha (Culp) McLaughlin; daughter, Vickie Peck and sister, Francis McNett.
A funeral service was held on Friday, Jan. 18, at Christian Fellowship Church. Dr. J.T. Parish and Rev. Richie Clendenen officiated.
Interment with military honors followed in the Marshall County Memory Gardens, Benton.
