Updated: The victim of the fire on Union Ridge Road this morning has been identified as Ruth Woodyard. Neighbors told the Tribune-Courier Woodyard had been ill and was confined to bed. Her husband had attempted to light a heater and it exploded inside the recreational vehicle in which they were living.

An elderly Marshall County woman died in a fire this morning in the Aurora area. The fire broke out at around 8:30 a.m. in a recreational vehicle behind the victim’s home on Union Ridge Road. According to neighbors the woman and her husband had been living in the RV while they were working on their house. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name.

The Aurora Ross Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Fairdealing-Olive Fire Department and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
