He was the son of the late Lester Jones and the late Bertie Fike Jones.
He served as an airman in the Air Force and was a Mason.
Surviving are daughters, Cynthia Doran of Akron, Ohio, Tina Price of Clinton, Tenn., Mary Robertson of Knoxville, Tenn., Jackie Gallaher of Oliver Springs, Tenn., Brenda Metcalf of Powell, Tenn.; son, Joseph Michael Jones of Ocoee, Fla.; brother, William L. Jones of Benton; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister: Elizabeth Jones Ward.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 at Collier Funeral Chapel in Benton. The Rev. Ray Lewis and Rev. Jon Bedwell officiated.
Interment followed in the Benton Cemetery.
A masonic service was held on Friday, Nov. 30, at the funeral home.
