MC cheerleaders to host Hoop Fest beauty pageant

The first annual Hoop Fest Beauty Pageant will be held on Saturday, Nov., 17 at 5 p.m. in Reed Conder Gymnasium at Marshall County High School in Draffenville.

The event is being hosted by the high school’s cheerleaders and proceeds will go to help fund competition expenses.

Girls’ age divisions are 0-18 months, 19-35 months, 3-5 years, 6-9 years, 10-13 years, and 14-18 years.

Boys’ age divisions are 0-18 months and 19-35 months.

Winners in each age division will receive a trophy, crown and free entry to all three sessions of Hoop Fest Nov. 30-Dec. 1, with special recognition and VIP seating.

First and second runners-up in each age division will receive a trophy.

Attire is casual sportswear for all ages.

Winners will be invited to participate in the Benton and Calvert City Christmas parades on Saturday, Dec. 1.

Entry fee is $25 with an optional fee of $5 for photogenic entries. Contestants should provide photos not larger than eight by 10 inches.

Winners in each age division will receive a trophy.

Entrants may register at 4 p.m. and pay at the door, or entries may be mailed to MC HoopFest Pageant, ATTN: Haley Chambers, 416 High School Road, Benton, KY 42025.

Mailed entries must be postmarked by Nov. 12. All checks should be made to MC Cheer Boosters.

Concessions will be available.

Door admission is $5. Pageant entrants and children under age 5 will be admitted free.
