He was a heavy equipment operator for SKW Alloys in Calvert City. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the VFW and the Church of Christ.
He was the son of the late Ludd Bowman and the late Ever (Barnes) Bowman.
He is survived by his wife, Georgie DeLoyce Taylor Bowman of Calvert City; daughters Kaye Story of Calvert City and Janice Flood of Murray; a step-daughter, Susan Boyles of Shelbyville; a son, Ray Bowman of Murray; five grandchildren, either great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Stevenson of Benton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dorothy Watkins.
The funeral service was Monday, Nov. 5, in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton.
Bill McCormick officiated.
Interment with military honors will follow on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 1 p.m. at the Fredonia Cemetery, Manchester.
