A Marshall County grand jury returned an indictment last week in the case of a Memorial Day accident that left two teens seriously injured.
Cory Burkeen was indicted on two counts of aggravated assault and wanton endangerment and DUI.
Investigators say Burkeen was under the influence of drugs when he crashed nearly head-on into a vehicle carrying four teens on Hwy. 95 near Calvert City.
Two occupants of the car struck by Burkeen, Shane McKenty and Landon Lovett, suffered life-threatening injuries. McKenty required lengthy hospitalization and continues to undergo rehabilitation. Lovett remains in a coma at a hospital in Nashville.
Burkeen will be arraigned in Marshall County Circuit Court on Nov. 5.
