CALVERT CITY — A wreck early Thursday morning sent two women to the hospital.

According to a Marshall County Sheriff's Department press release, Lanette N. Neider, 32, Grand Rivers, was traveling east on U.S. 62, approaching Calvert City in a 2000 Chevrolet S-10. For unknown reasons, she drifted into the westbound lane and into the path of a 1993 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Jessica Rodgers, 19, Paducah. Nieder's truck struck Rogers' truck head on. Neither vehicle contained passengers and no other cars were involved in the collision.

Marshall County EMS took Rogers to Lourdes Hospital for treatment of injuries. Once extracted from her truck, PHI Air Medical flew Neider to a Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. for treatment. Both women were wearing seatbelts at the time of the wreck.

Deputy Mark Ballentine continues to investigate the cause of the collision.
