A native of Logan County, he was a retired salesman and member of the New Zion Baptist Church of Benton. He was Cub Scout Master for Benton Troop 71.
He is survived by his mother; Livinia Pauline Robertson Edwards of Benton; daughter Johnna Smith of Dexter; son Craig Edwards of Benton; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, John R. Edwards.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 11:00 a.m. in the Collier Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Rodney Wallace will officiate. Interment will follow in New Zion Cemetery in Benton.
Friends may visit with the family after 9 a.m. until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
