A Benton man faces charges of wanton endangerment related to threatening North Marshall Water District employees on Wednesday.
According to a Marshall County Sheriff’s Depart-ment report, Deputy Nathan Maxlow responded to an address on Noles Lane in Benton.
Curtis Derington, 61, allegedly called emergency dispatch and threatened to shoot workers from North Marshall Water.
Dispatch asked Derington to put the weapon down and step away from it. When Maxlow arrived, he found the unloaded weapon away from the suspect.
Maxlow concluded Derington did point the gun at the workers. Derrington denied he pointed it at workers.
Derrington was taken to the Marshall County Detention Center and charged with wanton endangerment.
