He was a retired welder and carpenter.
He was the son of Charles Amis and Eula Mae Howe Amis Burgess.
He is survived by a son, Jerry Don Amis Jr. of Paducah; sister Doris Fletcher of Benton; brother Charles Amis of Calvert City; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his brother, James "Bubby" Amis.
Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home in Benton.
