A Simpson County native, he worked at ITW and was a bus driver for the Russellville Independent Schools. He was a member of the Middleton Baptist Church, Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army and member of the VFW.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Nan Pendleton, of Russellville; son Charles “Finley” Cooper of Sharon Grove, Ky.; daughters Fairy Robinson of Auburn, Ky., Jennifer Osborn of Benton, Diane Stiffey of Smith Grove, Ky., Carmel Pendleton of Bowling Green and Ginger Kay Pendleton of Crofton, Ky.; brothers Herman Pendleton of Waukegan, Ill., James Pendleton of Bowling Green and Donald Pendleton of Clarksville, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Pendleton and Ella Richardson Pendleton
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at Summers, Kirby and Sanders Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Webb officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 4, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday after 8 a.m. until the funeral hour.
