Winford Earl Ham, 74, of Benton, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, at his home.

A native of Gilbertsville, he was a retired heating and air conditioning contractor and was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and in Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife, Marianne Lengfellner Ham; daughters Patricia Lengfellner and Letta Slawson and son Robert Ham, all of Benton; brother Ralph Ham of Cincinnati, Ohio; sisters Virginia Hancock of Eddyville and Frances York Cope and Valetta Sirls, both of Benton; and seven grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Anthony Ham and Nettie Lowery Ham, and his stepmother, Elizabeth Ham; and brothers and sisters Irene Smith, R.A. Ham, Louise Groenert, Rosie Sinkler, Charles Ham, Mildred Sue Filbeck and Jean Youngblood.

The funeral service was Friday, Sept. 28, at Collier Funeral Home, with Bro. Jerry Lee and Bro. Ralph Ham officiating. Interment followed in Briensburg Cemetery.
