He was a retired truck driver with Quality Carriers and attended Southland Baptist Temple for many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a member of American Legion Post 144 and Calvert City Masonic Lodge #543 F&AM.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth Irene Keeling Freeman of Calvert City; sons Dr. Steve Freeman and Bob Freeman, both of Calvert City; sisters Edna Farmer, Alice Dick and Shirley Cunningham, all of Paducah; seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Lynn Freeman; a brother, James Freeman; and a sister, Janice Kay Freeman. His parents were William Cletus Freeman and Gladys Marie Newton Freeman.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home with Rev. James Keeling and Dr. Harold Council officiating and with special remembrances from his grandchildren. Burial will follow with military rites in Calvert City Cemetery.
