Velma J. Baker, 85, of Hardin, passed away, Friday, Sept. 28, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
Daughter of Hallie Johnson and Lola Jones Johnson, she was a homemaker and a member of Olive Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Ronnie Baker of Hardin; a daughter, Sandra Moore, of Hardin; a brother, Howard Johnson of Benton; sisters, Thema Burkeen of Hardin and Mary Redden of Murray; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Baker; a son, Danny Baker; a brother, James Johnson; a sister, Marjorie Hopkins; and one great-grandchild.
The funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at Collier Funeral Chapel. Rev. Curtis Harrell and Rev. Chris Moore will officiate. Interment will be at Unity Cemetery in Hardin.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at the funeral home.
