Woodrow Futrell, 97, of Murray, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Marshall County Hospital in Benton.

He was a member of Church Grove United Methodist Church and Temple Hill Masonic Lodge F&AM Lodge #276. He worked as a maintenance welder for National Carbide in Calvert City and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

A native of Calloway County, he was the son of Eucley Crit and Emma Houston Futrell. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Frances Holland Futrell, four sisters, three brothers, two great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.

He is survived by a daughter, Jeanna Robertson of Murray; grandchildren Debbie Moreland and of Wingo, Sandy Pace of Hardin and Barbara Harper of Hazel; seven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home in Murray. Bro. Jimmy Stom will officiate. Burial will follow in Holland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at the funeral home.
