Ruth Sykes Wilson, 91, of Murray, died Monday, Sept. 17, at the Calvert City Convalescent Center.
A native of Henry County, Tenn., she was the daughter of Hershell and Artie Salmon Sykes.
She was the former owner and operator of Ruth Wilson’s Beauty Shop and worked as a clerk at Murray Singers. She was a member of the Goshen United Methodist Church.
Survivors include daughters Linda Barrett of Calvert City and Nancy Barrett of Benton; a son, Bobby Wilson of Murray; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hugh D. Wilson,; a daughter, Martha Ann Wilson; a sister, LaRue Sykes; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The funeral will be Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 2 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home in Murray. Rev. David Allbritten will officiate, Burial will follow in the Goshen cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
