David A. Lahaie, 71, of Aurora died Sunday, Aug. 5, in Kalamazoo, Mich.

A native of Joliet, Ill., he was a retired steel mill fireman and steel worker at a plant in Gary, Ind., and retired in Aurora in 2004.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy A. Watkins Lahaie of Aurora; sons Michael Lahaie of Mattawan, Mich. and Jeffrey Lahaie of Valparaiso, Ind.; brothers Eugene Lahaie of Hobart, In., Jack Lahaie of Phoenix and Tony Lahaie of Valparaiso, Ind.; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Helen Lahaie.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 22, at 2 p.m. at the Aurora Christian Church (located behind Belew’s Drive-In Restaurant).
