Racing was to continue for the next four weeks, with the season finale slated for Friday night, Sept. 21. That event has been moved back to Sept. 28.
According to a track press release, “It takes 65,000 to 70,000 gallons of water to prepare the track surface before a Friday night race. The water level at the track’s reservoir has reached such a low level, that this volume of water cannot be pumped. Hopefully the water level will soon increase so that normal operations can resume.”
More details will be included in Tuesday’s edition of the Trib and any new developments will be reported in the online edition.
