She is survived by daughters Carolyn Thorning of Kuttawa, Betty Filbeck of Benton, and Wynona Evensen and Wilma Mayes of Gilbertsville; sons Charles Satterfield of Nortonville, Ky., Danny Phelps of Paducah and Cecil Phelps of Salem; stepson Junior Ray Butler of Florida; stepdaughters Merle Ivy of St. Charles, Ky.,, and Eva Hoglan of Springfield, Mo.; 19 grandchildren and 18 step-granchildren; 46 great-grandchildren and 52 step-great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and 23 step-great-grandchildren; sisters Nell Russell and Patricia Russell of Calvert City, Ruth Littlepage of Nortonville, Ky., and Earlene Masden of Benton; and brother Junior Phelps of Nashville, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gralla B. Phelps and Ines Gamblin Phelps; her first husband, Joseph Edward Butler; her second husband, Robert Alvin Gray; brothers William Phelps and Ray Phelps; and sisters Opal Littlepage, Helen Browning and Rosie Macey Rogers.
The funeral service will be Friday, Aug. 24, at 2 p.m. in the Collier Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rev. Willard Walls officiating. Interment will follow in the Marshall County Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the KY Kidney Fund, Lourdes Hospice or the church youth group of the contributor’s choice.
