According to Melissa Combs, the ban is being lifted by order of Judge Executive Mike Miller, with recommendations from the county's fire chiefs.
Residents of Marshall County, including the incorporated cities of Benton, Calvert City and Hardin are allowed to burn effective immediately.
Individuals are encouraged to stay alert to wind conditions when planning a burn project. Most brush fire incidents occur due to burning on windy days. Regulations state all fires are to be manned until completely extinguished. Individuals burning can be held liable for all damages resulting from an out-of- control fire.
Combs said the burn ban could be reinstated if conditions warrant.
