She was the daughter of James Dell Brown and Mayme Florence Lee Brown, both of Marshall County.
Survivors include a son, Gary Ray Byerly of Baton Rouge, La.; a sister, Julia Ann Byerly of Reidland; and three grandchildren.
Mrs. Byerly was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Raymond Byerly. While he was serving in the Army during World War II, Mrs. Byerly worked at the Willow Run aircraft assembly plant near Detroit helping build B-24 “Liberator” bombers.
Also preceding her in death were a son, David Byerly; sisters Edna Jones and Nina Nelson of Fairdealing and Grace Largent of Reidland; brothers Ted Brown, Bob Brown and J.C. Brown of Fairdealing and Jim Brown of Symsonia.
Services will be held at Collier Funeral Chapel Friday, July 27, at 10 a.m. Visitation will be Thursday, July 26, from 5 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Kirksey. Brother Bruce Watts will officiate.
