From Marshall County Emergency Management: The Marshall County Judge Executive and the Mayors of Benton, Calvert City, and Hardin have implemented a burn ban effective 26 June 2012 at 6 PM. The ban will remain in force until farther notice. This ban is being implemented due to the extremely dry conditions and low humidity. Non-compliance with this ban can result in a penalty of not less than $100 and not more than $500.

Fireworks are not included in this ban. However, those electing to use fireworks are urged to use extreme caution and common sense.
