George Murphy, age 68 of Benton died Thursday, June 7, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. He was retired from Aramark Services and a member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church.

He was the son of the late Kenny Murphy and the late Elmina (Courtney) Murphy.

He is survived by his wife: Donna (Owens) Murphy, two daughters: Lisa Bowlin, Benton, Allison Cox, Mayfield, three sons: Brian Murphy, Fancy Farm, Greg Murphy, Fancy Farm, Allen Spears, Farmington, Mo., three sisters: MaryLou Wurtz, Lone Oak, Peggy Vincent, Ind., Marie Willett, Lone Oak, two brothers: Harold Murphy, Cuba, Patrick Murphy, Mentor, Ohio, eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Murphy.

Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY.

Interment was at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Benton, KY.
