Bargain hunters were on the prowl early this morning for the start of the 400 mile sale. The annual sale runs today through Saturday in a route along U.S. Highway 68 from Sharpe to the Kentucky/Ohio border.

The sale has also been extended this year to include a section of Hwy 641 which starts in Paris, Tenn. and travels north through Puryear, Hazel and Murray before connecting with Hwy. 68 in Aurora.

Jennifer Weldy, who had a tent located at her daughter's house in Draffenville, said shoppers were arriving before 7 a.m. to get the first look at her merchandise.

Regular travelers and those who live along the route are cautioned to be aware of slow moving vehicles and sudden stops.

Last year the sale drew shoppers from 40 states, Canada and British Columbia.
