Edward Irl Rendleman, 92, of Calvert City, died Wednesday at Calvert City Convalescent Center.

He retired from the Army after 31 years in 1972 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was the Fire Chief for the Calvert City Fire Department for over 50 years, and was the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at his church, Calvert City United Methodist Church.

Mr. Rendleman was a member of the American Legion Post 236, the VFW of Calvert City, KY, the Purple Heart Association, and the R.O.A.

He is survived by, one daughter, Sherry Ross, of Calvert City; one son, Michael E. Rendleman, of Milford, Pa.; one sister, Paz Baegle of San Matio, Calif.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and several neices and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane (Kiest) Rendleman; and brother, Charles Rendleman. His parents were, Irl Rendleman Cecelia (Schumacher) Rendleman.

Funeral services wereheld May 19 at the Calvert City United Methodist Church. Eddy Bronley and Jim Calhoun officiated. Burial will followed at the Calvert City Cemetery.
