Mr. Harper was a self-employed sign painter.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Carbajal Harper of Eddyville; two daughters, Raquel Jones of Clanton, Ala. and Talaya Arias of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sons, Josh Ludwig of Springfield, Mo. and Jason Arias of Columbiana, Ala.; his mother, Edith Virginia Durbin Harper of Benton; two brothers, Ronald Eugene Harper of Benton and William Ray Harper of Reno, Nevada; one sister, Linda Harper of Phoenix, Ariz. and eleven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie E. Harper.
Funeral services were held April 7, at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home and Crematory. Rev. Jewell Barrett officiated and burial followed in the Fooks Cemetery.
