CLINTON – Allee Moore pounded out a three-run home run and Toni Fehrenbacher allowed only four hits as Marshall County opened the fast pitch softball season with an 18-1 victory over Hickman County Tuesday.

The Lady Marshals also got six doubles, two each by Abby Fiessinger and Caitlyn York and one apiece by Fehrenbacher and Buzz Ray.

York led the assault with four hits in four at-bats, with one RBI. Moore and Mallory Young had three hits apiece.

Ray, Shelby Tyree and Lexee Miller all had two hits for the winners.

Fehrenbacher got the win while Haley Bizzle took the loss for Hickman County.

Fehrenbacher pitched three shutout innings before the Lady Falcons pushed across one run in the bottom of the fourth. That made the score 7-1, but the Lady Marshals erupted for 11 runs in the top of the fifth and the game ended under the mercy rule when Hickman failed to score in the bottom of the inning.

Hickman County, which opened the season with an 8-3 loss to Union City, Tenn., March 19, drops to 0-2.

Marshall County was slated to visit Graves County Monday and the home opener is set for today at 6 p.m. against Christian County.
