BENTON – The first of three public forums to discuss a clinic for the working poor will meet Wednesday night at the courthouse.
The clinic has received support in recent weeks as organizers Judy and Graham Smith have sought input. Now, the community will have a chance to discuss the possibility. The Smiths have hoped to bring the community together to fill the gap for working families who can’t afford insurance or medical care.
Similar clinics exist in Murray and Paducah.
The first forum will be held March 21 at the Marshall County Courthouse in Benton. A second meeting will be held at the Calvert City United Methodist Church March 26. Both meetings will begin at 7:30 p.m. A third meeting will be held April 9 in Hardin at 7 p.m. at the community building.
