The brief traffic stoppage near the 27 mile marker is to to allow a fiber optic line to be run across the interstate.
The closure point is between the I-24 Exit 27 Interchange with US 62 and the 27 mile marker just to the east of the Interchange.
Police agencies working with PPS will use a rolling road block starting several miles out to slow traffic to allow the line to be connected across the travel lanes. Police will also be stopping traffic attempting to enter I-24 eastbound from US 62 and the nearby Purchase Parkway.
The traffic stoppage is expect to last only about 15 minues at the site. Motorist who regularly travel this section of I-24 should be alert for this brief traffic stoppage at midnight Thursday.
