Mrs. Darnell is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Dell Smith of Reidland and Hilda Mae Mustion of Murray; five sons, Richard Darnell of Calvert City, Eddie Wayne Darnell of Almo, Brooks Clayton Darnell, Clyde Eugene Darnell, and Ted Darnell, all of Murray; 15 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Darnell; one son, Danny Lynn Darnell; one daughter, Mary Ruth Taylor; one sister; five brothers; and five grandchildren. Her parents were Walter Clyde and Ansy York Gore.
Services were held on January 28, at Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home, with the Rev. William B. Miller officiating. Burial followed in Murray Memorial Gardens.
