Mr. Hugh Evans Scott, 81, of Benton, died Saturday, January 14, at his home in Benton.

He was a retired Electrical Engineer for Tennessee Valley Authority. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Benton.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn (Miles) Scott of Benton; three daughters, Teresa Kern of Villa Ridge, Ill., Mary Jo Sprouse of Benton, Jill R. Scott of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and one son, John Robert Scott of Madison, Miss.; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Cynthia Beasley of Mantee, Miss., and Barbara Pumphrey (Billy) of Mantee, MS.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jim Hugh Scott and Mary Lee (Eaves) Scott.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 17, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton.Rev. Don Wilson will officiate.

Interment with military honors will follow in the Benton Cemetery.
