He was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church. Mr. McCarty was an electronic technician for Motorola.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon McCarty, Benton; son, Alexander H. McCarty Jr., Benton; daughters, Kim Renee Steinke, Queen Creek, Ariz., Tammy Tavane Mcglothlin, Florence, Colo., April Heather Elkins, Almo; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; fourteen step grandchildren; and 2 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul F. McCarty; and his parents, Grady Elbert McCarty and Delma Irene (Clendenin) McCarty.
Memorial service was held at Walnut Street Baptist Church on December 24, with Bro. Joel Frizzell officiating.
Inurnment followed at Benton Cemetery, in Benton.
