Carl Gordon Anderson Jr., 80, of Benton, died December 7, at Murray-Calloway Co. Hospital in Murray. He was a current member of the First Christian Church in Benton, where he also served as a Deacon. He was a member of the Marshall County Board of Health and Marshall County Needline. Mr. Gordon also worked at the J & R Pharmacy in Benton.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Brown Anderson of Benton; daughters, Valari Anderson of Benton, and Vicki Draper of Kirkland, Wash.; brothers, Buford Anderson of Murray, James Anderson of Paducah, Clay Anderson of Columbus, and Amos Anderson of Reidland; sisters, Lou Etta Sweet of Arlington, and Peggy Nieschlag of Metamora, Ill.; one grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl Gordon Anderson Sr. and Oma Mae (Thomason) Anderson; and brother, Danny Anderson.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 10, at the First Christian Church in Benton. Rev. Tim Polley officiated. Burial followed in the Roselawn Cemetery in Bardwell.
