He was a retired electrician for Paducah Power System and a member of the National Rifle Association.
He is survived by one son, Richard E. Nanney Sr. of Calvert City; one grandson, Richard E. Nanney Jr.; one great-granddaughter, Destiny Nanney; and one brother, Charlie Nanney of Paducah.
His parents were James Lester Nanney and Lou Belle Perry Nanney.
Funeral services were held December 1, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. F. Wayne Carter officiating.
