Twenty-seven-year-old Michael K. Williams of Mayfield is expected to appear in Marshall County District Court this afternoon. Williams is charged with two counts of murder, one count of assault, one count of wanton endangerment, driving under the influence second offense and driving on a suspended license.

The charges stem from a weekend accident that resulted in the deaths of 21-year-old Kaytlin E. Lamb and 34-year-old Michael Hoy, both of Benton. Two others were injured in the accident. Williams was not hurt.

Williams was traveling east on U.S. Highway 68 in Palma at around 3:30 a.m. Saturday when he lost control of his vehicle in a curve, ran off the roadway and overturned before striking a utility pole.

Williams is jailed in the Marshall County Detention Center.
