AURORA – The 34th Annual Aurora Country Festival is set to return Oct. 7-8.
“This years theme will have a patriotic flair honoring our Troops,” said organizer JW Davis via release. “We are asking for businesses, organizations and churches to participate by either putting together and hosting a float or sponsoring a float in honor of our troops protecting our freedoms overseas.”
The parade will start on October 8 at 11 a.m. at the circle inside the Kenlake State Resort Park on US Hwy. 68 in Aurora. The route will proceed west through downtown Aurora on Hwy. 68 to the Aurora-Ross Fire Station parking lot.
A benefit dinner and auction for the Wounded Warriors Project is also being planned. The dinner and auction are planned to kick off the Festival on Oct. 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Kenlake State Resort Park.
“A brief ceremony honoring our Wounded Soldiers is being planned at the Kenlake Music Stage following the parade at 12:30 p.m. across from the Brass Lantern Restaurant in downtown Aurora,” Davis said. The benefit dinner and auction tickets are $10 per adult and children tickets are $5. Tickets may be purchased at the door on the day of the event or in advance by phoning 703-6060.
The festival will also include an antique car show at the Masonic lodge across from Sirls Realty and a flea market.
Anyone interested in placing, hosting or sponsoring a float, or being involved in sponsoring the benefit dinner and auction, or setting up as a vendor or for any other information, phone the organization at 703-6060.
