Jerry Ray Cope, 68, of Benton, died September 10, at his home in Benton.

Mr. Cope retired after 39 years of service as a chemical operator with the B.F. Goodrich, Noveon and Lubrizol companies in Calvert City, and was a member of the Unity Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Gail (Lovett) Cope of Benton, one daughter, Tina Cook of Murray, two sons, Jeff Cope of Benton, Denny Cope of Benton, three grandchildren, one great-grandson, Cameron Dean Cook of Murray; his mother, Ruth (Burkhart) Cope of Benton; one brother, Lynn Cope of Benton.

He is preceded in death by his father, Solon Ray Cope of Benton.

Funeral services will be held September 13 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton.

Rev. James Lawson, Rev. Brian Hayes and Rev. Curtis Harrell will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Unity Cemetery, Hardin.

Friends after 7 a.m. Tuesday until the funeral hour at the Collier Funeral Home in Benton.
