Mr. Elkins was an Army Veteran who served during the Korean War. He was also a retired self-employed painter.
Mr. Elkins is survived by a son, Frankie Elkins of Benton; two daughters, Cathy Freeman of Mayfield and Jan Cooper, of Murray; a brother, Russell Elkins of Murray; a sister; Polly Chadwick of Dexter; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell Elkins & Susie Mathis; two brothers, Alvin and Bill Elkins; two sisters, Linda Ahart and Mildred Thorn.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, August 31 at Stewart Cemetery. Rev. Kerry Lambert officiated
